HISTORY OF 'ALLAHABAD TAX BAR ASSOCIATION, PRAYAGRAJ'
Allahabad Tax Bar Association was established in 2004 with the vision of creating a strong, progressive, and welfare-oriented professional platform for lawyers practicing in the fields of income tax, sales tax, VAT, GST, and other taxation laws.
The Association was founded under the valuable guidance and inspiration of senior and respected lawyers, including Hon'ble Shri N. C. Gupta, Shri R. K. Srivastava, Late S. R. Yadav, Shri K. K. Gupta, Shri S. K. Pandey, Shri V. K. Pandey, Shri L. C. Jaiswal, Shri R. K. Agrawal, Shri P C Giri and other distinguished members of the tax-law fraternity. Their collective efforts and foresight laid the foundation for an organisation committed to professional excellence, mutual cooperation, and the welfare of its members.
The principal objectives behind the formation of the Association were to encourage the exchange and sharing of legal knowledge, promote professional development, and provide members with access to a well-equipped law library containing updated books, journals, statutes, commentaries, and other legal resources. The Association also aimed to establish a better sitting place and a comfortable, dignified, and conducive working environment for advocates.
Another important objective was to develop cordial and effective communication between members of the Bar and the tax authorities and administrative officers of the Sales Tax/GST, Income Tax Departments. Through regular interaction, cooperation, and constructive engagement, the Association has worked to strengthen the relationship between tax practitioners and departmental officers, thereby contributing to the smooth and efficient administration of tax laws.
The welfare of junior advocates and colleagues has remained one of the foremost concerns of the Association. It has endeavoured to provide guidance and support to young lawyers, encourage professional learning, and foster a spirit of unity, dignity, and mutual respect among all members.
Since its establishment, the Allahabad Tax Bar Association has conducted several elections in a democratic and transparent manner. The office-bearers of the Association are elected by the members every two years, reflecting the organisation's commitment to democratic governance, participation, and accountability.
Since its establishment, the Allahabad Tax Bar Association has continued to serve as a platform for legal learning, professional cooperation, and collective welfare. The vision and dedication of its founding seniors continue to inspire the Association in its ongoing efforts to uphold the honour of the legal profession and advance the interests of the tax-law community.
इलाहाबाद टैक्स बार एसोसिएशन की स्थापना वर्ष 2004 में कर-विधि से जुड़े अधिवक्ताओं के सामूहिक हितों, विधिक ज्ञान के आदान-प्रदान तथा पेशेवर विकास के उद्देश्य से की गई थी। इस संस्था की स्थापना वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ताओं के मार्गदर्शन और सहयोग से हुई, जिनमें श्री एन.सी. गुप्ता, श्री आर.के. श्रीवास्तव, स्वर्गीय एस.आर. यादव, श्री के.के. गुप्ता, श्री एस.के. पाण्डेय, श्री वी.के. पाण्डेय, श्री एल.सी. जायसवाल, श्री आर.के. अग्रवाल, श्री पी सी गिरि तथा अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ताओं का महत्वपूर्ण योगदान रहा।
एसोसिएशन की स्थापना का प्रमुख उद्देश्य कर-विधि, बिक्रीकर एवं वर्तमान में वस्तु एवं सेवा कर (जीएसटी) से संबंधित कानूनों का अध्ययन और सदस्यों के बीच विधिक ज्ञान का प्रसार करना था। संस्था ने अपने सदस्यों के लिए एक बेहतर एवं समृद्ध विधि-पुस्तकालय विकसित करने, अध्ययन-अनुसंधान की सुविधाएं उपलब्ध कराने तथा अधिवक्ताओं के बैठने के लिए सुविधाजनक, स्वच्छ और अनुकूल वातावरण प्रदान करने की दिशा में निरंतर कार्य किया है।
इलाहाबाद टैक्स बार एसोसिएशन ने अधिवक्ताओं और कर अधिकारियों के बीच बेहतर समन्वय एवं संवाद स्थापित करने में भी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई है। बिक्रीकर/जीएसटी विभाग के अधिकारियों तथा प्रशासन के साथ सदस्यों के पेशेवर संबंधों को सुदृढ़ करने, व्यावहारिक कठिनाइयों के समाधान तथा न्यायसंगत कर-प्रशासन को बढ़ावा देने के लिए संस्था समय-समय पर आवश्यक पहल करती रही है।
एसोसिएशन सदैव अपने कनिष्ठ अधिवक्ताओं और सहकर्मियों के कल्याण के प्रति सजग रही है। कनिष्ठ अधिवक्ताओं को विधिक मार्गदर्शन, वरिष्ठों का अनुभव, पेशेवर सहयोग और आगे बढ़ने के अवसर उपलब्ध कराना संस्था की महत्वपूर्ण प्राथमिकताओं में शामिल है। इसी प्रकार, सभी सदस्यों के हितों की रक्षा और उनके कल्याण के लिए भी एसोसिएशन निरंतर प्रयासरत रही है।
संस्था ने अपने गठन के बाद से अनेक चुनाव लोकतांत्रिक प्रक्रिया के माध्यम से सफलतापूर्वक संपन्न कराए हैं। प्रत्येक दो वर्ष में एसोसिएशन के पदाधिकारियों का निर्वाचन लोकतांत्रिक तरीके से किया जाता है, जिससे सदस्यों की सहभागिता, पारदर्शिता और संस्था के प्रति विश्वास कायम रहता है।
आज इलाहाबाद टैक्स बार एसोसिएशन विधिक ज्ञान, लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों, पारस्परिक सहयोग और अधिवक्ता कल्याण की भावना का प्रतिनिधित्व करने वाली एक महत्वपूर्ण संस्था है। अपने संस्थापक एवं वरिष्ठ सदस्यों की दूरदृष्टि और मार्गदर्शन से प्रेरित होकर यह एसोसिएशन कर-विधि के क्षेत्र में अधिवक्ताओं के हितों, सम्मान और उन्नति के लिए निरंतर कार्य कर रही है।
